27th IAHR International Symposium on Ice

Ice Research and Engineering Committee of International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) is announcing the 27th IAHR Ice Symposium, which will be held from 9 to 13 June 2024 in Gdansk University of Technology (GdanskTECH), Poland. Symposium covers all areas of ice research, including river, lake, and sea ice, as well as climatic impact on cryosphere:

  • River, Lake, and Reservoir Ice
  • Sea Ice
  • Ice Mechanics and Hydraulics
  • Ice Interaction with Structures
  • Shipping in Ice
  • Environmental and Ecological Consequences of Climate Change in the Cryosphere

    Special Sessions

  • Baltic Sea Offshore Wind Development – chaired by Hayo Hendrikse

Template of the manuscript and submission rules are here.

Maximum manuscript length is 12 pages with exceptions. Decisions related to breaking the limitation of the paper’s length will be on the scientific committee members and Symposium chair.

The process for indexing of the papers in Scopus is already started. Each paper will gain individual DOI number.

Paper submission deadline was April 20, 2024

For all authors who have submitted abstracts but were unable to provide the full paper before the deadline, we encourage them to continue working on their manuscripts and to contact the local organizing committee via email for submission instructions.

For participants from low-income countries based on the current world bank classification, a special reduced fee is allocated.

  • Accompanying person fee 350 €

The price for accompanying person includes 3 guided tours (Gdańsk Old Town, Malbork Castle, Kashubia region), meals during the day, participation in evening events as part of the Symposium (opening reception, poster reception, closing ceremony). Gala dinner on Wednesday evening costs an additional 65 €.
